Plant Health Care

A holistic approach to enhance health

and aesthetics for healthy plants.

Plant health care is a holistic approach to manage and balance the health and aesthetics of plants in a landscape, as well as the needs of the owner. The primary goal is to create healthy plants in order to minimize the negative effects of pests, diseases, and extreme environmental conditions. Our PHC program utilizes Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques to help us reduce the effects of treatments on non-target species and lower environmental impact, while still providing safe and effective control of pests.

What is IPM?

Integrated Pest Management is a science-based approach that combines a variety of techniques. Your IPM professional will study the life cycles and environmental interactions of pests to manage them with the most effective methods while reducing costs and risks to the environment.

Evaluate

The results from monitoring will help determine if the pest is causing damage and if action is needed.

3

Prevent

Some pest problems can be prevented by using resistant plants, planting early, and using barriers against climbing pests.

4

Action

IPM uses multiple tools to reduce pests below a damaging level. A careful selection of preventative and curative treatments will reduce reliance on any one tactic and increase the likelihood of success.

5

Monitor

We continue to monitor the pest population. If it remains low or decreases, further treatments may not be necessary.
